Sandwiches are distributed weekly by the Matthew 8:20 group. We average 50 per week. Matthew 8:20 does a hot meal weekly on Sunday as well and is also part of the Hope Coalition.
We hold a Food Bank 2 times per month on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month.
It is a 501(c)3 non profit formed to help get veterans out of homelessness.
The Coalition is made up of 3 Christian churches, 1 501(c)3 organization and one outreach along with Eloy Veterans Center. The churches involved are:
1. 1st UMC Eloy, Pastor Ed Brown
2. Mt Zion, Pastor Fred Kannamm
3. Toltec Evangelical Methodist Church
4. Soldiers Of Faith, Rafael Bauta and Pastor Christina Bauta
5. Mathew 8:20 outreach, Dale Knapp
6. Eloy Veterans Center, Sonnete Chaput
This is hosted on our church property and manned by another organization - CARHA
All in the community are welcome to come and eat on the 2nd Sat of the month from 8am to 10 am. The menu varies from month to month.
We host a community radio show on 106.1 KURE-LP every Friday at 11 am. The program is co-hosted with 2 other pastors, Fred and Rafael as well as members of the Hope Coalition.
Pastor Ed participates 2 times per year in a 3.5 day prison ministry.
